BAND CONTESTS.

Arrangements Well In Hand. The New Zealand ' Brass Bands’ Association has arrangements well in hand for next month’s championship contests at Nelson. The contests will commence on Monday, February 15, and will extend over the week. For the A grade contest there are 11 entrants, and for the B grade 18. It is possible that the whole of these bands may not attend, owing to those inevitable changes in the personnel of band membership, but nevertheless the contests promise to be most interesting and should attract many lovers of band music to sunny Nelson. This will be the first big 'band contest to be held at Nelson since 1921. Mr E. P. Kerry, of Sydney, is the chief adjudicator. He will have as his assistant Mr T, Goodall, of WellingLou.
