Clothing Factory Hands Are Scarce. Dunedin, January 15... Experienced clothing factory employees' are at a premium in Dunedin, but the supply of apprentices more than fills the demand. Advertisements for experienced workers have lately drawn no response, and when the factories closed for 10 days during Christmas and New Year many of this class of employee lengthened their holidays by a week, without notification, but so acute is the shortage that employers could not afford to dispense with their services, as it is suggested would have been the sequel in ordinary circumstances.
