Schools Will Not Open Before February 15.

Press Association —Copyright. Invercargill, Last Night. ■ Public schools will not be opened before February 15. Thi* announcement was made to-night by the Minister of Education, the Hon. p. Fraser.

The decision was arrived at after consultation with the Director-Gener-al of Health, Dr. M. H. Watt, and the Director of Education, Mr. N. J. Lambourne, said the Minister. This course was adopted because of the situation created by the infantile paralysis epidemic. “It is something of a negative announcement,” he added, “but the position will be reviewed again shortly and a definite date will be named.”
