The Soviet, says the Daily Herald’s diplomatic correspondent, has asked that the British fleet participate in international action to end the piratical activities of General Franco’s warships in the Mediterranean.

Early and favourable replies, wnich in the case of France have teen already foreshadowed, are anticipated. The announcement of the intention to enforce the Foreign Enlistment Act in Britain will doubtless be followed by positive measures of an analogous nature in other countries.
