She and Prince Bernhard arrived late on January 9. They had travelled from Brussels in the Ostend-Bucharest Orient Express and joined a slow train to which a first-class coach was attached, at Tarnow Junction. They travelled with an entourage of five as- th e Count- and Countess Sternberg with diplomatic passports. They were not recognised tliroughp-ti: the journey. The couple arrived at the hotel in a horse carriage.
