WOOL SALE BENEFIT.
Central Taranaki Farmers Get Best Increases.
A particularly satisfactory feature of the last Wellington wool sale as regards Central Taranaki was pointed out to a “Central Press” representative by Mr J. C. Robins, District Public Trustee, to-day.
"It is very pleasing to observe that the increase in wool prices has been particularly beneficial to Central Taranaki sheep farmers,” said Mr Robins. “The wools which showed the greatest increase in price compared with last year’s figures were the coarse-crossbred sorts, which advanced, relatively much more than the halfibred and other finer wools. This cross-bred wool Is the type grown in the Central Taranaki back-., country and many of the of Central Taranaki farmers excei’y ed even the most optimistic expectations. Most of these farmers have had a very difficult time during the depression and this trend in wool prices may have the effect of bringing men back on to the abandoned lands in these districts, which would lift a big burden from the backs of the present settlers.”
