Vicar Flails ‘He-women’ In Shorts
NO ‘MONSTKOBITV ’ WELCOME IN HIS CHURCH “A man looks at his worst in shorts, Out a woman in shorts at any time is a fright, and in the House of God a perect monstrosity. ’ ’ This is how Rev. Alexander Sharp, vicar of St. Barnabas, Plymouth, England, criticises a fellow-churchman tor his welcoming people in sports dress to •Service. "I shall not welcome such immodest le-women in St. Barnabas, “ he adds. "There have been some extraordin* ary pronouncements by some of our Church dignitaries this past month,” says the Rev. Sharp in his Attack, which appears in the church magazine. ‘Silly Season.’ ‘‘One would have ns drop a large number of our favourite hymns which have given great help and consolation to millions of souls. ‘Why a bishop should wish to deprive us of such beautiful production 1 •annot imagine. ‘Still another dignitary is eager to have women curates and even women archbishops. Perhaps these eccentricities are owing to the silly season.
