Local guides and fifty men from an Alpine regiment reached the two mountaineers who were caught on a ledge above Herr Hitler’s retreat and found them exhausted, suffering from severe frostlbite and lack of food. They will be hauled to the top of the mountain and transported to the valley on stretchers.
