ITALIAN AGREEMENT.
mplications Which Britain Did Not Intend. Press Association—Copyright. (Received Noon). Rome, January l 5. Despite resentment in London at the way Italy is straining the text o fhe British-Italian agreement? authorised commentators continue to findj implications in the document that Britain did not intend. Th© Italians construe the paragraph relating to th© territorial integrity of Spain as meaning the establishment of a Republic apart from Franco’s Government. The assurances apply, no tonly to the Balearic Isles, but also to the whole of Spain and Morocco, hence Italy can never alldw* the establishment of a Catalan Republic. A Paris message states that the French Press considers the dispatch of Italians to Spain, following the conclusion of the British-Italian agreement as unbelievable duplicity.
