ANTI-ESPIONAGE DRIVE

AIR SECRETS GUARDED Close Watch Kept In Britain. Special—By Air Mail. London, Dec. 12. i The Intelligence Department of the j Air Ministry have started the great- I est anti-espionage drive since the war. Aircraft factories throughout Britain, where either new type warplane guns or aircraft appliances are being built, have been instructed to reorganise their watchmen services. In. some cases watchmen are to be armed. Factory executives have been ordered by the Air Council to scrutinise every visitor to the workshops, offices, or airfields. The reasons for this drive are that, owing to Air Force expansion, there are more official secrets in the hands of aircraft manufacturers now than there have been since the war. Some of these plans and appliances would be invaluable to foreign Governments.
