MAN MISSING

Left Note Saying He Had Gone On Raft. Press Association—Copyright. Invercargill, Last. Night. An intensive search of the coast from Ocean Beach to Green Hills has been made by Bluff police and residents of the district in an endeavour to find William Middlemiss, of Pyramid, Gore, aged 55 years, who has been missing for several days. About 4 o’clock on the afternoon of December 21 he visited the Ocean beach freezing works and was seen later walking through a works paddock towards the beach. The note, supposedly written by the missing man, said he was going to sea on a raft. To the present no trace of him has been found.
