Professional Boxing At Auckland. Press Association —Copyright. Auckland, December 20. The professional boxing contest at the Town Hall on Saturday night between Deacon Leo Kelly, America, and Jack Rainsford, Australia, ended in the eleventh round. The bout, was fairly interesting for the first five rounds, but after that Kelly was clearly the master of the situation, and it was only a question of how long it would last.

Light-weight Title. Press Association —Copyright. Blenheim, December 20. For the second time, Jack Jarvis, Eltham, retained the lightweight title on a draw against challenges by Clarrie Rayner, Blenheim, when they appeared this afternoon in the first openair title bout staged in New Zealand. Jarvis, Ost 61b, was one pound lighter than the challenger. Fought in hot sunshine, the contest was hard and' even, and characterised by muck in-fighting. Both were exceedingly fast, Jarvis evidencing an improvemen as a result of his Australian trip. It was anyone’s fight throughout, and the verdict was popular. In a professional preliminary, Ralph Atiken, Wellington, 9st 6Jlb, defeated Percy Rayner, Blenheim, 9st 91b, by a technical knock-out in the twelfth round, after an open display, with Aitken superior.
