Marshal Chiang Still in Hands Of Captors. Press Association—Copyright. ' Nanking, December 20. Marshal Chiang Kai-shek has not been released and the Government will resume hostilities against the rebels on Sunday, using air bombers. General Arita, Japanese War Minister, informed the Chinese Ambassador that Japan would disapprove of a compromise! between Nanjkfing. and General Hsueh Liang. The Government postponed until 4 p.m. on Saturday' its threat to throw 150,000 troops ■ against the Sianfu mutineers in consequence of a letter from Marshal Hiang Kai-shek stating 'that as far as he idfigt he would return to Nanking on Saturday. General Hoyungchin stated: “Our troops will proceed to crush the rebels if Marshal Chiang is not released.” ' It is reported that Marshal Chiang and his adviser, Mr W. 11. Donald, are both well.
