Seasonable greetings to “The Press” are acknowledged from the following.—His Worship the Mayor of Stratford (Mr J. W. McMillan), Mr W. L. Kennedy, The Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of New Zealand, The Inglewood Times, John Dickinson and Co. (N.Z.), Carmichael and Co. (N.Z.) Ltd. The birthday of the Duke of Kent occurred yesterday, when His Royal Highness reached the age of 31. The youngest living member of the Royal Family, the Duke of Kent, was born on December 20, 1902, nearly two years after the Duke of Gloucester, v. ho was born on March 31, 1900. The Duke of Kent was for some time a sub lieutenant in the Navy and later en ertd the Kort ign Oilice, being the first member of his family to be attached to a civil service. He has toured South America and South Africa. His marriage to Princess Marina of Greece took place at the end of 1934 and he has one son. Prince Edward.
