'Stowaway King’ Sentenced
LINGUIST WHOSE IDENTITY IS PUZZLE TO POLICE Described by a detective as “King oi Stowaways,” Kolino Rooks (23) was sentenced to four months’ hard laboui at Salford, England. He was charged with landing in the United Kingdom contrary to the Aliens Order and with making a false statement to a police officer. . . Detective-Sergeant Cleminson saic that Rooks had given three different versions of how he got into the country. “He is purely an obstructionist and seems bent on giving the police and im migration officials the utmost difficul' ty,” said the officer. “He is undoubtedly the king of stowaway and we can only hope that some' time he will disclose the true information of his identity.
* ‘lt seems that he will not tell the truth because he is in fear of something abroad.” The officer said that Rooks spoke fluent English, German, French and Portugese. It was stated that Rooks had previously received sentences of imprisonment at Cardiff for landing without permission and at Hull for failing tc comply with regulations.
