Stratford School Entries Judged.
Stratford school entries were judged to-day in preparation for the group judging at Cardiff on December 9. Mr S. G. Morgan (Mangatoki) was judge of dairy' type and Mr W. Harris, SLratford, was judge of rearing. Mr R. Syme accompanied the judges. Mr Morgan said that the winning calf was particularly well put together. It was of good length and was so even throughout that it could not be passed over. The second, third and four’ll! calves ran it very close. They were better finished at the back but did not show the same evenness throughout. Mr Harris said that all the calves were in perfect health and condition. He had only visited one other school where the entries came up to such a standard. ■ The winning calf was the best he had seen for some years and if kept at its present condition should go a * on 9 wa Y- ' • Details are: Light Breeds. Joyce Martin first in dairy type and rearing. The leading competition was won by W. Jardine, with Ruth Oliver second. J. Whittington was awarded first prize for a yearling.
