WOOL SALES
Preparations In Hand For Second Sale. Press Association —Copyright. Hastings, Last Night. Preparations are in hand for Hhe second New Zealand wool sale of the season which is to be held at Na pieion Friday. Widespread interest is being focused in the event in view of the exceptional rise in prices recorded at Auckland on Saturday. The bulk of the wool for sale is inj contrast with the greater proportion of that offered at Auckland which consisted of carding types, being longer, better grown and more bold in character.
The wool generally has opened up in much lighter condition than was the case for the. first sale last season. Its general appearance is not quite so bright as it promised to be, but it is fairly soft handling; A refreshing feature of the display is that it consists almost entirely of new season’s clips, held-over lots being practically absent. A feature is the absence of seed, which is largely due to shearing being completed before seeding commenced. The clips show very little evidence of weather stains, and shabby lots form only a small percentage.
