Paris, December 1. “General war in Europe can and will be avoided if the three great democracies, France, Britain and the United States, work together and normal economic relations are restored,” declared M. Blum, French Premier. “I do not think war is inevitable. I am convinced, on the contrary, that there exists in Europe and in the world a sufficient force to avoid war. We need America’s help to stabilise peace.” . Referring to internal conditions, he describes the rumours that France is on the verge of a social revolution as unfounded .and said that no other country ever made such profound changes with so little trouble.
