WOMAN INJURED.

Fire-engine And Car Collide.

Press Association —Copyright. Dunedin, November 29

Two people were taken to hospital early on Saturday evening as a result of a collision between an engine from the South Dunedin Fire Brigade and a private car driven by Mr. Robert Collins. The injured are: Alice Goodall, married, aged 54 years, a visitor from Hastings, who suffered head injuries and shock, which necessitated her name being placed on the seriously ill list; Mabel Collins, married, aged 37 years, residing at 13 Minto Street, Anderson’s Bay, who received abrasions and shock. The. driver of the car escaped with only a few slight cuts and bruises. The fire engine was proceeding to a call at Anderson’s Bay when the collision occurred at the corner of Cargill Road and Anderson’s Bay Road. Fortunately the brigade was not going particularly fast at the time, the corner being a dangerous one for traffic. The force of the impact, however, turned the car over on its side, and the vehicle was badly damaged. The. fire engine was not damaged to the extent of more than about £2O.
