GRAFTON BRIDGE
Second Fatality Within a Few Days. Press. Association—Copyright. Auckland, Last Night. .The second. fatality within a few days, occurred from Grafton Bridge ttis afternoon, when a young man fell from the bridge near the centre, death being instantaneous. The incident occurred at about two o’clock, when there was a large number of pedesv trians on the bridge, as .many people '•were on their way to visit friends in the Auckland hospital. The young man was seen to walk across the bridge and place his over Coat on the parapet. He then climbed on to the parapet and was seen to fall ‘ Immediately. A woman who was close to him screamed as he was about to ’ fall, but although this attracted the attention of several people they were not near enough to prevent the tragedy. The body was found in the deepest part of the gully. The man was wearing pyjamas un der a brown coat and trousers. He was later identified as Thomas Cul- ‘ len, single, aged 28. He was a patient at the tuberculosis shelters at the Auckland infirmary.
