I, John Shakp, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of the City of Nelson, do hereby give notice that, by virtue of a Writ, bearing date the Fourth day of November, 1861, issued under the hand ot his Excellency the Administrator of the Government of New Zealand, an ELECTION will be held for the return of SIX qualified persons to serve as MEMBERS of the PROVINCIAL COUNCIL for the said Elotoral District; and that the NOMINATION of candidates will take place at the Provincial Hall, Nelson, on MONDAY, the Thirtieth day of December, 1861, at Noon; and that the POLL (if necessary) will be taken on MONDAY, the Sixth day of January, 1862.
