T^THEREAS WRITS under the hand of " his Honor John Perry Robinson, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, bearing date the fourteenth day of December instant, have been directed to me, John Pointer, Esquire, Resident Magistrate and Returning Officer, requiring and commanding mo to cause to be elected by at>d from amongst the persons duly qualified for that purpose freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, SEVEN PERSONS to serve as TRUSTEES under the said Act for the ensuing three years, and also TWO PERSONS to serve as AUDITORS under the said Act far the ensuing year. Tne aforesaid Act requires that ' every householder in each educational district shall pay, annually, twenty shillings, and a further sum of five shillings for every child of such householder between the ages of five and fourteen years : Provided always, that no person shall be liable to pay for more than four childien, nor for any child residing more than th^ee miles from any school established under this Act; nor for any child attending any school not established under this Act, in respect of whom such person shall produce to the Collector a certificate, signed by the teacher ot sucli school, showing that tueh child has attended during the three months previous to the levying of the rate.' Applications for Tickets under Rule 19 must be made at. Mr. tanton's, on Thursday, the 19th instant, and all not then applied for will be disposed of as extra tickets, for which no applications will be received after One o'clock on 21st instant. The tickets will be issued at Mr. Stnnfon's, on Friday, the 20th instant, from Two to Five nVlouk.
