AYe remind our readers of this (Thursday) evening ;being the last opportunity that will be afforded them Ibf experiencing tlie success of Mrs. Foley's company in their efforts to entertain an audience. Mrs. Foley with her taste, judgment, and arduous application in everything ; Mr. Webster invested with an intensified yet easy earnestness at times most effective and never distasteful; and Mr. Swarm's hardworking and clever pourtrayals of broad farce, have altogether formed the nucleus of a theatrical coterie that has really entertained the public for a month past, and that Mr. Webster should ' win golden opinions from all sorts of people,' causesustocallparticnlarattention to this evening being devoted to his benefit. The Lady of Lyons is announced for the first piece ; an interlude of singing, with a special song from Mr. Swarm; to conclude with, for the second time,* the highly successful burlesque of the Happy Man, which, to do justice to, would require far moro space than the exigencies of other matters will admit of in this issue ; suffice it to say that nothing more richly humorous, or funnily magnificent, has ever before been, placed on the Nelson stage.
Nelson Gold.—The following return of gold exported from Nelson has been oilieially published The return is made up. from April, 1857, to ■.30th September, 186 L—36,451 ounces, value £141,2-18. To this may be added about £20,000, exported through tliQ. Wellington Custom-house.
The New Sheriff.—From a Provincial Gazette of November 12th, we find that Maxwell Bury, Esq., has been appointed Sheriff for the district of kelson,
