(From GoldsbrougKs Weekly Circular.) The Corn Market, at the close of last and in course of the present week, has been without any degree of interest to note, beyond the arrivals of some foreign bread-stuffs which have dropped in from Chili and California. The advices brought by the Camilla, from California, have been, to a great extent, anticipated by the arrival at Sydney of the Colporteur, from San Francisco, with reports of three vessels loading for this —two for Sydney and one for New Zealand. The Canton also reports some other cargoes as coming forward from Chili. Flour.—lmports of colonial are light; 300 tons Chilian, and 100 tons Californian have dropped in, which . has tended to depress the market. Adelaide sorts have found buyers at £18 10s. to £19. Some favorite brands have brought £20. The Chilian flour to hand has found a buyer. There is no Californian nor Tasmanian changing handp, while any parcels of United States flour in second hands find a market at 425.' per barrel.

Wheat.—lmports of colonial for the last few days have been trifling: from Chili, 4800 bushels; and California, 10,000 bushels are to hand; the Chilian has found a purchaser, but price has not trauspired. Any colonial offering finds buyers at 7s. 9d. to Bs. 3d. per bushel.

Oats.—The arrivals continue limited, while the demand is active for good sweet parcels of feeding sorts, which arc being quitted at following quotations :—Colonial, 4s 2d to 4s 4d; Californian, 3s 8d to 4s; Dutch and Danish, 3s. 6d. to 3s. Bd.; Calcutta and Russian, 3s. 2d. to 3s. 6d.; Scotch and Irish, 3s 6d to 3s 9d per bushel. Barley is unaltered. Feeding sorts are worked out, and there is no demand for malting descriptions at present. Wool.—There will not be any amount of business transacted in this market until the public sales commence, which will be about the 17th October, in order to give time for the arrival of the Engtish mail, due the 10th instant. A portion of the new clip was offered at Geelong on Tuesday, but probably in consequence of the small quantity submitted, and the inclemency of the weather, the sale did not go offin a very spirited manner. One lot of 35 bales—fleece, branded ' Swan Water,' realised 22d. perlb.; all the rest, consisting principally of greasy, were bought in. In this market there is abundant evidence of the eagerness of buyers to commence operations, and we expect that the opening sales-r-providing the news by the mail is

not unfavorable—will go off in a very satisfactory manner.

Sheepskins. From Bd. to IOJd. per lb. was realised for some very good skins, at the Geelong sale on Tuesday. Melbourne slaughtered are quoted at from ss. 6d. to ss. 9d. each, till shearing. Hides.—There has been more inquiry for parcels in shipping condition, but we have not heard of any Bales being effected. Country wet salted, are quoted at from Us. 6d. to 12s. Pd. each. Tallow. For several weeks past there has been scarcely any demand for colonial use, and owners have been under the necessity of shipping to the home market on their own account. Mutton is quoted at £50 to £52; beet, £40 to £45. per ton. _ Horses.—The improvement noticed in our last report has been well sustained this week. There was a good attendance of buyers, and some fresh country lots having been brought forward, a full business was transacted at improved rates. There was a fair supply of heavy draught horses, which were readily quitted at late quotations; the demand for this description has not abated. Hacks and light harness horses of a good stamp have sold remarkably well, and, although we disposed of a large number this week, the inquiry still continues brisk.

Fat Cattle.—There has been a considerable falling off in the number of cattle to hand this week compared with previous ones, 687 head only arrived, 105 of which were taken for the country and shipping. Owing to the trade being generally well supplied, prices did not advance until towards the close of the sales. We quote bullocks, £d 10s. to £U ; others from £6 10s. to £8 10s. Best cows, £6 15s. to £8 55.; others from £4 10s. to £5 10s, Inferior at less than store prices. Calves.—A large number were brought forward. Prices ranged from 13s. 6d. to 655., according to weight and quality. Sheep.—No improvement in the prices of this description of stock. Best wethers sold at from 16s. to 175.; second class do, 13a. to 155.; ewes, 13s. to 14s. 6d. 8790 were exposed for sale. Lambs were sold at from Bs. to 14s. 6d.
