ROME.
The Paris Patrie says:~An order of the day of General de Lamoriciereto his troops announces that the • moment is near when they will have.to march against the enemy; it further states that the enemy will be numerous, but'will be triumphed over owing to the holiness of the cause which the Pontifical troops defend. The resignation of the general is still talked of. He is said to have tendered it two days ago, but the Pope would not accept it. In the opinion of many persons the general is much discouraged. In a recent interview with the Pope, he is said to have declared to his Holiness that, although during the last ten years the Papal government has expended more than 200,000,000 francs for military matters, yet out of all that had been purchased there only remained what would represent a value of about 500,000 francs. Fresh companies of Roman soldiers have been sent off to Civita Vecchia. Their destination is said to be the frontier of Tuscany.
