MOTUEKA.
The re-opening of St» Thomas's Church, (after removal and enlargement) took place on Sunday last, the Bth instant, when morning and afternoon service was celebrated, and effective and appropriate sermons preached—the one in the morning by the Rev. J, C. Bagsbaw, Incumbent, from Haggai, i impart of 7,8, 9; the one in the afternoon by the Rev. T. L. Tudor, -from Isaiah, liv. 2 and part of 3. After each service collections were made in aid of the building fund amounting to upwards of £11. The removal and enlargement of this Church will be a great convenience to the people of Motueka; The whole cost of removal, enlargement and extra fitting is estimated "at from £220 to £230, which amount, it is expected, the churchwardens will be able to meet by the liberal donations and subscriptions which have come in from various sources, added to a grant of £50 from the General Diocesau Church Building Fund,"so that, in all probability there will be no debt left on the building; this must be a great satisfaction to those gentlemen who have so. kindly and energetically exerted themselves in furtherance of this praiseworthy object.
