POLICE COURT.
Saturday, November 12. Before the Resident Magistrate. William Barnett of Wakapuaka, shoemaker, was broughtbefdre His Honor charged with being drunk and disorderly in the.town of Nelson. 1 Offence admitted. Fined £l and costs. ; At the same time Mr. Barnett was charged by Mr. Thohias Field, the brewer with having on the afternoon of Friday entered his house, aud after conducting himself in a very riotous manner, ended by assaulting one of his children. The Resident Magistrate, after having cautioned Mr. Barnett against intemperance, fined him ,£2 for the assault. Ann Shaw—one ofthe Female Domestics lately imported from Melbourne, made her second appearance during the week, before the Resident Magistrate, charged with being drunk and incapable. Offence admitted. Fined 105.., and costs. Isaac Freeth,, of Nelson, Liv.ery Stable keeper was charged by one of the .Constables with allowing his horse tQ wander at large .in the streets. •■ Offence admitted. .Fined ss. and costs.
