Branch officers elected
Mr R. McLeod was elected president of the Taupo sub-branch of the N.Z. Crippled Children 's Society at the annual meeting in St Andrew's Hall. Other officers elected were: — Secretary, Mrs C. Thomas; treasurer, Mr R. Monk; committee: Mesdames J. Glazewski, C. Ford and B. Taylor, Messrs B. Ainsworth, D. Malcolm, I. Styles, R. Johnston, A. Woolston, K. Neill and J. Mahar. At the meeting Mrs Gray, the Rotorua and Taupo area field officer for the society, spoke in connection with her work. She said that with new case treatments and modern science reducing the mortality rate, the number of children for the society to look after and deal with was steadily increasing.
