College cross country is held
Participation in this year's Taupo College crosscountry championships was semi-voluntary. Houses, however, were required to enter teams in all events. The events were held on the Taupo Harrier Club's course near Crown Park Results were. — Third form boys [2800 metres]: M. Williams (10m 47s) 1, K. Hurren 2, J. Williams 3. Team race: Ngauruhoe 1, Tauhara 2, Tongariro 3. Fourth form boys [2800 metres]: Gary Dryden (9m 47s) 1, T. Marshall 2, C. Williams 3.
Team race: Tongariro 1, Ruapehu 2, Ngauruhoe 3. Senior boys [5500 metres]: K. Wilson (21m 30s) 1, K. Hurren 2, C. Mathews 3. Team race: Ngauruhoe 1, Tongariro 2, Ruapehu 3. Junior girls: G. Parker (12m 28s) 1, T. Mace 2, J. Brown 3. Team race: Tauhara and Ngauruhoe 1 equal, Tongariro 3. Senior girls: C. Chapman (13m .03s) 1, J. Hall 2, G. Price 3.
