Vice-Regal party to visit

The Governor- General, Sir Denis Blundell, is to talk to college and primary students when he visits Taupo on September 19. It will be the first official vice-regal f visit to Taupo by Sir Denis, who will be accompanied by Lady Blundell. The Mayor, Mr C. S. Currie, said the Governor- General had expressed the desire to speak to as many | students as possible. — "It is hoped that as many schoolchildren as possible can be assembled at a convenient location between 9.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. for the talk," said Mr Currie.

Mr Currie said that though details of the visit had yet to be finalised, their Excellencies would probably have morning tea with council members and their wives. Sir Denis and Lady Blundell will visit Taupo during a four-day tour of the central North Island. The tour will begin on September 17. Their Excellencies will drive to Taupo on September 18 to spend the night. They will be in Turangi the following afternoon and will visit the Tokaanu power project.
