Concern voiced on private fire alarms
Taupo's chief fire officer, Mr S. K. Christensen, has expressed concern that private fire alarm users are not testing their systems regularly. Fire prevention officer, Mr B. J. Bell, shares this concern. On a report received at a meeting of the Taupo Urban Fire Authority last night, Mr , Bell said that private fire alarm installations had been disappointing. ^ "This will be fully covered in our recommendations to the borough council in our relicensing reports for boarding house licensing which will be undertaken during the next quarter," said Mr Bell. Mr Christensen said he was aTso concerned that the plans Mr Bell inspected at the building inspectors' office could not be brought to the station for further checking and consultation. "Weetyy checks of plans helfj at the borv ough council's offices have been maintained," said Mr Bell. "But while their staff offer every assistance it
would be more desirable if plans and specifications could be worked
upon in our own office where more attention to detail could be given."
