Radios stolen

Five car radios worth about $400 in total have been stolen in Taupo during the past week. Most of the radios have been fixed ones, which the thieves have unscrewed from the vehicles. Two radios were taken from trucks in Matai Street, one from a motor vehicle dealer's yard, one from a bus at the Hawke's Bay Motor Company, and the fifth from a car which had broken down and was left on the Acacia Bay Road. Detective Sergeant T. J. Cullen, of the Taupo C.I.B., yesterday warned motorists to lock their cars when leaving them in public areas.
