Court reduces jail sentence
A Taupo businessman jailed for 18 months on drug charges earlier this year has had his sentence reduced to six months following an appeal hearing in the Supreme Court, Auckland. In May, Anthony Donald Woodrow, 43, retailer, pleaded guilty in the Taupo Magistrate's Court to charges of cultivating a narcotic [cannabis] and permitting his house to be used for the smoking of the drug.
