Council okays lease
• ' Realignment of Broadlands Road and excavation work for a burrow pit has intruded on Taupo Pony Club land, the Taupo Borough Council has been told. " The club asked for the temporary use of part of the Spa Thermal Park — > previously the un-named domain on Centennial Drive, and the council *, approved a one-year lease of about 20 acres. Rental was set at $50 a year and a right of renewal v of the lease is negotiable. The club will be ^ responsible for any fencing necessary. * * * The deputy borough engineer, Mr J. N. F. Minchington, was, given permission to attend a seminar on contract law and practice, to be held in N Christchurch on July 10 and 11.
