Golfers share ball birds nest

Saturday was a memorable day for Taupo golfers G. Dust and F. Tapalaga. They collected 25 balls each as their share of a bird's nest of 50 balls with

twos at the 16th and 17th holes on the old course. Two bird's nests still remain in play, the first of 50 balls and the second with a prize of 24 balls. Saturday's club compe-

Rudkin also won the professional's stableford competition with 40 points from Hinckesman and H. Gillies, both 39. Twos' winners were: New. course, P. Evans, M. Cook, C. Broughton 6th, T. Milne 18th; old course, Dust, Tapalaga 16th. There was no club competition on Sunday, but youthful Kevin Sharrock, despite meeting trouble over the last few holes, won the professional's stableford event with 40 points. M. Cook and H. Gillies shared second place with '39. G. Stebbing (6th) and G. Barlow (18th) scored birdies on the new course, while J. Weston (6th) and Mrs M. B. Orr (16th) ran in twos on the old course.
