In-by a toss
Mr Staff Pearce was elected chairman of the T auponfti -it-Tfa College board of governors last week — by the toss of a coin. Two members, Mr B. Dick and Mr Pearce, were nominated for the position, and both polled an equal number 1 of votes. The board secretary, Mr F. N. Tritt, who holds the deciding vote, tossed a coin to determine which man would take the chair. Mr Pearce was a member of the board in the days when the college was still a district high school. He came to Taupo in 1946 and is the owner of a timber contracting business.
