Water main cut

Several business premises in Taupo were without water for about four hours on Monday when sewerage installation contractors accidentally cut the water main in the Gallagher Street service lane. Shops and offices on Heu Heu Street and Tu-

wharetoa Street, both of which back on to Gallagher Street, were out of water all morning. Most seriously affected were the Lake Hotel and the Lakeland Laundrette. These premises could not operate their washing machines until water was restored.
