NEW SETTLER IS WELCOMED
A new settler, Mrs Anderson, was welcomed to the district at the June meeting of the Tirohanga branch of the Women 's Division of Federated Farmers. The meeting was held at the home of Mrs A. Hanham. The president presented Mrs Anderson with a spray. Another new settler, Mrs Wiggins, was nominated as a new member. The guest speaker, Mr
McKnight, of Tokoroa, demonstrated a new automatic sewing machine. Competition results were. — Best bloom: Mrs B. Philpott 1, Mrs A. Hanham 2, Mrs J. Graham and Mrs S. Clarke 3 equal. Best shrub: Mrs B. Philpott. Jar of pickle: Mrs S. Reyland 1, Mrs R. Alexander 2. The hostesses for the evening, Mesdames E. Lambert and S. Clarke, served the supper.
