Harriers train

On Saturday, in cool wintry conditions, more than 30 Taupo harriers took part in a series of training cross-country runs over varying distances. Most of the boys were content to take things easy and save their energy for next week's races at Tau- ' whare. The main pack-run over some nine miles of rugged country, proved an ideal preparation for neixt week's 9000 metre senior race. Three senior runners to show good form were: John Sharp, Bruce McGregor and Keith Scandlyn. Many youngsters also tried their legs out. There were some welcome additions on the ladies side and the Taupo Harriers Club hope that this trend will Continue. Those to complete at Tauwhare next Saturday are asked to meet at 10 a.m. at the Post Office. The first race begins at 1.30 p.m.
