The managing director of Ford Motor Company of New Zealand Limited; Mr H. P. Ralph, hasr announced that the Australian and New Zealand Governments have approved a complementation arrangement under Article 3:7 of the New Zealand Australia Free Trade Agreement between Ford Australia and Ford New Zealand. Under this arrangement Ford New Zealand will manufacture light car transmissions and chassis components in Auckland for use in New Zealand and for export initially to Ford Australia Ford Australia will for its part> export additional kits of Australian Falcon components to New Zealand for assembly here by Ford New Zealand Mr Ralph said this arrangement would provide additional vehicles for the New Zealand market at no additional foreign exchange cost at the same time providing expanded opportunities for the utilisation of New Zealand resources. both labour and capital, with the substantial cost economies generated by access to both the New Zealand and Australian market.
