TYPING CHAMPION
A Whangarei typist, Miss L. A. Postgate, won the open speed typewriting championship in the 1970 Chamber of Commerce commercial education examinations. She grossed 103.5 words a minute for a net speed of 98.9 words, six and a half words better than the second place-getter. The junior section was won by Longburn College pupil Miss L. E. Hayward, whose net 75 words a minute took her to a narrow success. Numerous pupils of Taupo-nui-a-Tia College and Tongariro High School sat various subjects in the Chamber of Commerce examinations and the following passed : TONGARIRO H.S. K. D.
