Steel output in Britain hit record levels last year The latest figures published by the | ; industry show that production of steel ingots and steel casting in the 53 weeks of the statistical "year ' 1970 topped 27,882,000 tons, compared with 26,422,000 tons in a 1969 of 52 weeks. But production difficulties shortage of raw materials and labour disputes both inside and outside the industry caused output to drop between June and September.
