Swimming Carnival

Last Tuesday, members of the Taupo Swimming Club competed in a carnival at the Rotorua Boys' High School Baths. Although a depleted team, those who did take part swam exceptionally well after several weeks break from competitive swimming. Major placings were gained by the following members: - First: Monica Flight, Stewart Orr, Craig Orr, Patrick Goldsmith, Hini Northcroft, John Burton. Second: Adrian Orr, Monica Flight, John Burton, Chris Eisher, Steven Reid, Craig Orr. Third: Patrick Goldsmith, Grant Fisher, Susan Burton, Stewart Orr, Chris Fisher Ronald Parker. * * * This Saturday a carnival is being held at the new Otumoetai pool, near Tauranga, and swimmers are asked to be at the pool by 1.00 p.m. The carnival commences at 1.30 p.m., and the following team will compete: Nicki Hollis, John Burton, Grant Fisher, Chris Fisher, Arthur Cage ,Q arolyn Zwezerynen, Susan Burton, William Cage, Stuart Orr, Arno Byneveldt, Brian Loomans, Patrick Goldsmith, Craig Orr, Mary Bloomfield, Norma Habib, Ronald Parker.
