Attrill Cup on Sunday
Our local Attrill Cup team will meet a strong Tauranga representative team in a crucial game at Taupo this Sunday. The strength of this Tauranga team lies in its five Bay of Plenty representatives, L. D. Andersen, W. Anderson, P. Whelan, J. Symon and T. Hipkiss. Two of these players have also represented Northern Districts. Although it will be a tough game, Taupo has the experience and potential to give a good account of itself . The incentive of being in close running for the prized trophy should bring out the best in the Taupo players. The squad to practiSe for this fixture is: B. McPherson (captain), A. Hunter, P. Vivian, and T. Cullen (Taupo); D. Hunt (vice captain), B. Carlton, W. Davey, and M. West (Wanderers); J. Williamson F. Rewa, and W Gardner (College); and J. Darlington, N. Cambie, and J. Govind (College Old Boys) If these players produce the form they are capable of victory is very much in sight.
