Saturday will provide a wide range of sporting interest on the local scene, particularly for followcrs of aircraft and pony club activities. And on Sunday grass track motor racing holds the scene. The following weekend will be particularly interesting with raft races, land yacht racing, the annual lake swim and an already well supported skiathon. Some of this weekend's activities are: SATURDAY Air Pageant: Venue the Taupo airport; arrival of aircraft for Rothmans navigational award. Ponies: Gymkhana at Centennial Park, from 10 a.m. Bowls: Final of Taupo club pairs championship. Cricket: Club games continue. College Old Boys 136 for 6 versus Wanderers, at Kaimanawa Reserve; College 134 for 3 versus Taupo, at the College. Bay of Plenty plays Thames Valley, at Tauranga (Hawke Cup elimination); Bay of Plenty- Franklin Colts, at Rotorua. Fishing: Leisure Time contest continues. SUNDAY Motor racing: Grass track meeting at Centennial Park, from 11 a.m. Bowls: Club championship singles commence. Fishing: Leisure Time contest continues. NEXT WEEK Monday: Athletics at the College, starts 6 p.m. Tuesday: Swimming club, 6 p.m. Wednesday: Games evening, Memorial HalL Saturday: Raft races on the lake from 10 a.m.; open air arts exhibition, Suncourt; club cricket; bowls. . Sunday: Land yacht races, Centennial Park; lake swim from Acacia Bay to Two Mile Bay, 11.30 a.m.; skiathon, starts 10 a.m.; final day of Leisure Time fishing contest.
