YOU CAN, TOO...
Golfers! Take a leaf out of the book of Bob Charles and John Lister who appeared in an exhibition 18 hole match on the Taupo links last Sunday. Their very first task — and they did it as a matter of course — on walking onto each green was to repair their pitch marks. Charles used an ordinary tee — which he cleaned with a piece of cloth before replacing it in his pocket. Complaints about bumpy or rough greens would be largely resolved if all golfers — good or bad, young or old, male or female — took a moment to follow the example set by the two professionals.
