Mixed pairs bowls
The Taupo Bowling Club's open mixed pairs tournament on Sunday drew an entry of 20 teams including a number of visitors. Weather and green conditions were good arid each pair played three games of one hour's duration. K. North and Mrs Angell were the winners, from J. Warner and Mrs Hannah. They each recorded three wins. Other results: Two and a half wins: E. Wal-
drom and Mrs Best. Two wins: J. Dance and Mrs Dance, D. Roberts and Mrs Douglas, W. Hancock and Mrs Palmer; H. Mann and Mrs Roughsedge, B. Bowling and Mrs J. Delaney, W. Potter and Mrs Potter. One and a half wins: A. Miller and Mrs Miller, J. Dillon and Mrs Dillon, C. Hebbend and Mrs Barber, H. Bond and Mrs Thompson. One win: H. Dean and Mrs Dean, R. Titshall and Mrs Ruscoe, J. Rouse and Mrs Rouse. Half win: T. McMillan and Mrs McMillan. No wins: F. Raynor and Mrs Fletcher, J. Sommerville and Mrs Radcliffe, A. Miller and Mrs Pederson.
Club rinks were played on Saturday and results included: W. Potter (skip), E. Norris, N. Thoms and C. Hebbend 21, T. McMillan (skip), J. Warner, B. Adam and R. Forbes 18; C. Parlane (skip), J. Dillon, H. Mann and C. Newson 26, K. North (skip), F. Raynor, E. Gilmore and H. Dean 14. * * * Visitors will be welcomed at the mixed triples contest programmed from 1.30 p.m. next Sunday, January 3. New Year's Day will feature an open triples tourney.
