Escapers sought by Police
Three at large
Late yesterday afternoon Turangi police and a large number of prison officers were still searching for three prisoners who escaped from the Rangipo prison farm on Saturday night. On Monday night the Bridge Fishing Lodge at Turangi was broken into and a quantity of foodstuffs was taken. A 1964 Holden car was also taken from the lodge. Constable T. Little, of Turangi, said the police were not yet certain that these offences had been carried out by the escapers, but it was considered likely.
