Mr M. J Conway has been appointed deputy Director General of Forests. He joined the New Zealand Forest Service in 1948 and then served in the Nelson, Auckland, Rotorua and Canterbury Conservancies. He was* officer-in-charge, Kaingaroa Forest, from 1964 to 1966, and before becoming Director of Forest Management was Conservator of Forests, Christchurch. He is the immediate past president of the New Zealand Institute of Foresters. %
