Club averages
Wanderers players topped both batting and bowling averages at the end of the first round of the Taupo club cricket competition. Ray Williams, at bat twice for Wanderers, led with an average of 81, followed closely by his captain, Dave Hunt, scorer of the only century to date with 78.50. Warwick Davey claimed nine wickets with his right hand slows at the nominal cost of 5.22 runs each. Four batsmen and three bowlers conceded less than 10 runs for each wicket taken.
